FAQs
How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available to patrons (donors) in April of each year. Learn more
Tickets will be available to the general public at 8am on June 3.
We offer print-at-home, will-call pickup at the venue gate 1 hour before show time, or mailed tickets (if time allows). You can choose your option at checkout.
Where do I pick up my Will Call tickets?
Will Call tickets may be picked up at the Box Office during regular business hours or at the gate of the show for which they were purchased, one hour before show time. Please bring identification when picking up your tickets. Allow time to wait in line.
Do you have a Wait List for sold-out shows?
No, we don’t maintain a waiting list because all sales are final, with no refunds or exchanges on tickets once they are purchased. Will Call tickets are prepaid and will be held at the gate for their purchasers.
Is there a taxi or shuttle service from lodging to the theater?
The Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce keeps a list of all local taxi and shuttle services. Make sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before showtime.
Can I bring the kids?
Infants and children under 5 are not admitted; however, older children are welcome. Elementary school-age children especially love The Sound of Music and many families make the show an annual family vacation highlight!
When do the gates open at the theater?
Gates for the shows open one hour before showtime. Please arrive at least 30-45 minutes before show time to park, walk to the venue (or ride the shuttle) and to find your seat. Latecomers will be seated in the back of the theater, and not in their reserved seats.
Is seating reserved?
All shows are reserved seating.
What about parking?
Our parking is free! Get directions
How far is it from Seattle?
It’s usually a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive depending on traffic. You should allow at least an extra hour in case of road construction delays. Late arrivals are seated in the least disruptive location at each venue, at the back of the theater. To avoid any problems, come early and enjoy the Leavenworth area, downtown shopping and restaurants.
Where can I find lodging?
Visit the Leavenworth Chamber of Commerce web site for information, phone numbers and links to lodging websites. www.leavenworth.org
May I donate my tickets?
Yes. If you cannot attend your performance and do not wish to give your tickets to friends or family, your tickets may be donated. Simply return your tickets in person or by mail to the Ticket Office before the scheduled performance and the box office will send you a donation receipt.
How far a walk to my seat from the parking area?
It is 3+ blocks from the parking area to the seating area at Ski Hill. There is a (moderate) uphill walk to the seating area. There is a wheelchair-accessible van available for those who find it difficult to walk uphill. Please allow at least 30-45 minutes to park and walk to the theater. Latecomers will be seated at the back of the theater, and ushered to their reserved seats at intermission.
Arrive by 7:15 at the latest if you’ll need the shuttle up to the theater. Lines can get long.
Could we bring our own picnic dinner and eat it before the show?
Unfortunately, we do not have picnic facilities. We encourage you to picnic at one of the fine parks in Leavenworth or patronize one of the local eating establishments before coming to the theater.
At Ski Hill, the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club Lodge is available Wednesday - Sunday for a snack, a soda, a beer, or a glass of wine before the show. Just make sure you head to your seat at the show by 7:45 p.m.
Alcohol is not allowed in the amphitheater, so please finish your adult refreshment before leaving the Lodge.
Local school booster clubs offer concessions at the venue (water, soda, and candy) before the show and at intermission. All proceeds support their programs.
Should I wear bug spray?
Happy to report that we don’t have a mosquito problem. But we do encourage you to apply what makes you most comfortable. However, for the comfort of all our guests, especially those sensitive to fragrance, we ask that you apply it before you arrive. Bug repellent or sunscreen should not be applied in line, or in your seat.
What kind of handicapped access do you offer?
There is handicapped parking and a wheelchair-accessible van to take patrons from the entry area to the drop-off point near the seating area. There is an additional slightly uphill walk (or roll) to the handicapped access walkway and into the amphitheater. Personal assistance is also available to your seat.
Do you allow animals in the amphitheater?
We allow vested service animals. Otherwise, pets are not allowed.
Are there chairs at the theater?
All seating is reserved, and chairs are in place. Please do not bring your own chairs; there will be no place for them. You may bring blankets for warmth but there is no standing room area or sitting in the aisles. Seat cushions are available to rent for the evening. Proceeds support our programs.
Can we have our event at Ski Hill?
Our contract with the U.S. Forest Service only allows for LST performances. No other use is permitted.
